Introduction
beechtobeach is the base for Jane Mote — a documentary consultant, executive producer, mentor and speaker working with filmmakers and organisations around the world.
Over a thirty year career across the BBC, Discovery, Turner and as MD of Al Gore's documentary channel Current, Jane has commissioned, produced and shaped thousands of hours of factual storytelling. Today she focuses on the work that matters most: helping filmmakers find the story, the structure and the support to get their films made.

This epic film about a Palestinian/Jordanian family is about to have its World Premiere at the prestigious Locarno Film
Festival. Beechtobeach’s Jane is Executive Producer and has supported the talented film team – Asmahan Bkerat (Director) and Ban Maraqa (Producer/Editor) for five years.

STORY CONSULTANT
Replica
A film about AI love in China Replica is in the middle of a huge festival run. As Story Consultant Jane helped Director Chouwa Liang build narrative structure around her main protagonists and mentored her though the process of making the film.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Blue Sweater With a Yellow Hole
A documentary using animation to help bring the stories to life of Ukrainian children and young people indoctrinated by the Russians in camps over the border. As one of a team of Executive Producers, Jane has focussed on fund raising and developing impact plans for the film which is still in production. She pitched alongside the visionary Director Tetiana Khodakivska at the FIFDH (Human Rights Festival) Impact Days in Geneva in Spring 2026.

CO-DIRECTOR/PRODUCER
My Bones Are Woven
A feature-length documentary about Ann Sutton, an age-defying artist who gave up an international career as a weaver at 78 to become a fine artist and is still working now. Jane was Co-Director and Producer on the film which opened Shetland Film Festival, played at Chichester International Film Festival and was at the centre of a retrospective about Ann at The British Library. It is being distributed by Good Docs in the US.

Story support
Documentary leadership, training, mentoring and speaking.
Jane leads workshops, mentoring sessions and keynote talks on documentary storytelling at festivals, film schools and industry events worldwide.
Activities include tutor at Campus DocsBarcelona, keynote speaker at DocPoint Helsinki, funding workshop at DocPoint Tallinn, and mentoring and training for WFTV (UK), Dhaka DocLab (Bangladesh), Bifrost University (Iceland) and the BFI in London. She is a writer for IDA's Documentary Magazine.

Jane Mote
A documentary consultant, director, producer, journalist, mentor and speaker working with filmmakers and organisations around the world.
Over a thirty year career across the BBC, Discovery, Turner and as MD of Al Gore's documentary channel Current, Jane has commissioned, produced and shaped thousands of hours of factual storytelling. Today she focuses on the work that matters most: helping filmmakers find the story, giving them the structure and support to get their films made.

Co-Director · Operations Support
Jerry Lindsey
Jerry works alongside Jane as Co-Director and Operations Support, helping keep beechtobeach's projects moving from first idea through to delivery.
He has given on-site technical support for workshops in the UK, Iceland and Jordan. He was sound engineer for a drama project in Scotland and an artists residency in North Devon and has worked as drone pilot.
Prior to beechtobeach he had a career in social care focussing on supporting children and young people to reach their potential in the public and not-for-profit sectors.
